SPECKLED TROUT are the #1 target to
catch because they are an aggressive fighter, go after the lure, and
often come to the surface shaking their heads. They are silver with
black spots, and the larger ones have a prominent yellow mouth. The
Texas limit on trout is 10 fish per day; they must be at least 15"
long, and only one can be kept over 25".
REDFISH are usually a larger catch and a great
fight based on sheer weight. Reds are gold in color with a black
spot on the tail. They are also known as red drum. The law allows 3
fish per day per person between 20" and 28", allowing 1 larger than 28" if
tagged with a license.
FLOUNDER are the most elusive but always a
great catch. They are flat fish with brown spots.
WHERE WE FISH: All
of these species can be caught year round in all depths of
water. We fish mostly in water 3' to 5' deep, but we can
go from 1' to 18' in the Intercoastal Canal. Many factors are
involved: time of year, water temp., wind speed, wind direction,
and tides. We take all these conditions into consideration and
know which areas, methods, and lures are most productive. We
mostly fish Baffin Bay and the Laguna Madre in Corpus Christi,
Texas, and from Port Aransas to Port Mansfield as well as the
inland waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
